Here is our most commonly asked questions for hair courses in Nottingham.
Q: I am a local hairdresser in Nottingham, and I struggle with my hair up styling skills can you help?
A: Yes of course! My hair courses in Nottingham are perfect for hairdressers looking to improve their hairstyling skills. I have trained complete beginners to hairdressers who have been in the industry 30+ years and lack in confidence to achieve particular updo's, down styles, braids and more! Whether you want to learn a few specific styles or simply brush up on a variety of techniques my hair courses in Nottingham are bespoke to your individual needs. Whether you do a short or full day course with me you will leave with lots of tips, techniques to work on as well as brushing up on your product and tools knowledge to achieve the finished looks you desire. My hair courses are run from my home studio in Nottingham and I also offer in salon hair training to small groups.
Q: I am unsure if I should book a 3 hour or a 5 hour bridal hair training course with you, what do you recommend?
A: In the 3 hour course we aim to cover approx. 2-3 full looks and in the 5 hour course its approx. 4-5 full looks depending on abilities, speed etc. The 5 hour course is a more intense day designed to provide you with a good grounding for producing a variety of styles. The shorter 3 hour course is great if you just want to try a couple of specific hairstyles you’ve been asked for by clients or have seen and feel you lack confidence in doing. Either hair course is also great if you want to learn how to incorporate braids into your styling whether up or down, and if there is a specific braid you struggle to do as these are so popular and essential to learn in the hair industry.
Q: I’ve been a hairdresser for 20 years and can put hair up confidently but I’m looking to develop my skills and pick up some new techniques, are you able to accommodate me?
A: Yes absolutely! My hair course in Nottingham is very flexible in catering to different abilities and experience in the hair industry. I can show you tips and techniques you may not have thought of doing to create your hair up styles or hair down styles that can not only save you time but also still look great quality! We can sometimes get stuck in a rut and be old fashioned in our hairstyling methods so I can show you in my hair course how to modernise your work and give it a boho twist that’s more in fashion with today’s bride requirements.
Q: What is involved in one of your bridal hair training courses in Nottingham?
A: My hair courses in Nottingham are tailored to your individual requirements. Typically you would bring along an idea of a few styles you have seen that you want to learn how to tackle or go over specific techniques for example to help build your confidence in your hairstyling work, whether that’s at your hairdressing salon or you are already working in the wedding industry as a wedding hairstylist or makeup artist.
Q: In my one to one hairstyling training session can I take notes and pictures?
A: Yes of course, I am happy for you to take notes throughout and photos/videos as I know how easy it is to forget things once you’ve left and come to try out what you’ve learnt. If you do share any of the photographs you take of your work during the session, I just request that you tag me on social media as it helps to spread the word of my hair courses in Nottingham. Q: Do you offer product recommendations and tips on social media?
A: Absolutely! I have tried out tonnes of hair products over the years and have also learnt what works and doesn’t from the learning I have taken from industry professionals and social media influencers in the hair industry. You will leave with improved product knowledge and tips/ideas for social media.
Q: We are a hair salon outside of Nottingham, are you able to come out to us to do a hairstyling training session for my colleagues?
Absolutely, so I run hairstyling courses in Nottinghamshire and also further afield, for example hair courses in Derby, Loughborough, Chesterfield and more. You would need to simply send me a message with your requirements and your location and I will provide you with a quote from there.
Q: Do we receive a certificate on completion of the session?
A: Yes, my clients receive a framed certificate on completion on each of my hairstyling courses which you can display in your hair salons, studios etc.
Q: I would like to learn how to braid so I can do this on my daughter’s hair, is this something you offer?
A: Yes of course! Braiding and braid styles are so popular now! I think it’s an essential skill to learn in the hair industry. Or even if you just want to braid hair for family and friends, many young children are desperate to have their hair styled into funky braids for parties! If you drop me a message with your requirements and I can either come out to you to teach you the basic hair braids, for example, French braid, dutch braid, fishtail braid, pull through braid and so on or you can come to my studio for a training or group course to learn how to braid hair for those super cool boho hairstyles.
Q: Can I bring pictures of styles I’d like to learn in one of your hairstyling training courses?
A: Yes absolutely, always have a look through my social media, Instagram @rock_n_roller_hair before your hair course for some hair inspiration or there’s also Pinterest, Google etc and bring along a few ideas of what you would like to understand better in how to create and build your confidence in hairstyling.
